The Back Nine Golf Celebrates Elkhorn Grand Opening with October 15 Ribbon Cutting and Open House

The Back Nine Golf celebrates its Elkhorn grand opening Oct. 15, marking Mercedes Fonte’s third Omaha-area location in just over two years.

ELKHORN, NE, UNITED STATES, September 29, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Back Nine Golf will celebrate the grand opening of its newest Elkhorn location with a ribbon cutting and open house on October 15 from 5–7 p.m., marking owner Mercedes Fonte’s third location across the Omaha metro.

What began as a leap of faith from a career in financial services has grown into three local businesses and a growing golf community across the Omaha metro. In August 2024, Fonte opened The Back Nine Golf’s first Nebraska location in Omaha, bringing the rapidly growing indoor golf franchise to the Midwest. Since then, Fonte has expanded her local operation to three locations: Omaha, Papillion and now Elkhorn.

For Fonte, the newest location is about much more than expansion. Elkhorn is home.

“I live just seven minutes from this location, so I’m pretty excited that I can finally sneak away and practice my own game more,” Fonte said with a laugh. “But honestly, it’s so much bigger than that for me. I’m all about community, and having The Back Nine in my own backyard gives me an opportunity to get even more involved with my neighbors, our schools, small businesses and community events. Elkhorn has such an incredible golf community, and I knew this was where I wanted to be.”

Fonte’s journey into entrepreneurship began after more than a decade in financial services, when she decided to take a chance on herself and bring The Back Nine concept to Omaha. Just over two years later, that decision has grown into three locations serving golfers throughout the Omaha metro.

“Having a third location in under three years is almost unbelievable to me,” Fonte said. “I could not have done it without the immense support of my husband, my family, this community and, most importantly, our loyal clientele—the golfers who believe in our product, appreciate it and value it.”

What Fonte discovered along the way was that The Back Nine could be about far more than indoor golf. It became a place where people could build relationships, entertain clients, spend time with family and friends, practice their game and make golf fit into increasingly busy lives.

The Back Nine’s Full Swing simulator technology gives golfers the ability to practice and play year-round while receiving real-time feedback on their game. With locations in Omaha, Papillion and Elkhorn, Fonte hopes to make golf more accessible to players throughout the metro, especially those who may not always have time for a traditional round on the course.

“Golf is a game I love, but I also know firsthand how hard it can be to find the time to play,” Fonte said. “The technology allows people to get better every day, and our ability to make golf accessible to people who have little to no time to get out on the course is what makes this so special. Expanding our geographic footprint means we get to introduce even more people to that experience.”

The Back Nine Golf Elkhorn, located at 1404 N. 203rd St., Suite 106, will welcome the community for its grand opening and ribbon cutting on October 15 from 5–7 p.m.

Guests can experience demonstrations in both Full Swing simulator bays, meet participating vendors, enjoy light food and drinks, and enter a raffle for a chance to win a L.A.B. Golf putter.

The event is open to the public.
